For starters, software like Grammarly is a life changer. You can use it on almost any digital piece of writing, set it to any language preference, and it picks up little mistakes. Unfortunately, humans are not robots, and we can sometimes mis-see a comma for a full stop (especially when it’s late at night and the computer screen is going blurry).  

Also, eBooks can take a long time to proofread. Aka, you have a lot of time to get distracted, especially if you work from home. Implement some time management tools as soon into your career as possible. Whether that’s the Pomodoro method, a reward system, or locking your phone in a different room, find something that works for you.

Once you’ve got your proofreading career off the ground, you can branch out into other areas.
